C-Found Object Art

Found Object Art

Sunday, August 11th, 1-3pm

Class Description: In this fun art class you’ll arrange found objects in a box to create a time capsule, turn mementos into art, and/or tell a story. Do you have a cigar or shoe box of treasures stashed in a closet or under your bed? If so, this class is for you! Bring your own collections of mementos/found objects and a box you’d like to recycle and/or choose from our supplies. For the time allotted for the class, I suggest a box no larger than a cigar or shoe box; however, if you have a larger box you’d like to use and enough stuff to fill it, go ahead and bring it and if you don’t finish, you can always finish it at home. Good assemblage boxes I like using include: cigar, iphone ,computer, candy, pie and IKEA boxes. There are so many great boxes to recycle for an assemblage so see what you have lying around. (If you have a wooden box you’d like to use and want to stain or paint it, I suggest doing that step before bringing it to the class so that it has time to dry.)

All Included: Boxes, Paper, Charms, Buttons, Ribbon, Ephemera, Plastic Animals, Floral Miniatures (Birds, Butterflies, Plants, Moss, Flowers, Birdhouses, etc.) Aileens Tacky Glue, E600 Glue, Gorilla Glue, Fabric Glue, Glue Guns, Scissors, Xacto Knives, Cutting Mats, Paper Cutters, Fishing Line, Small Screw Hooks, Nails, Hangers, and Pliers.

Ages: 12 and up. Younger kids are welcome if accompanied by an adult. This class can be a great family activity so I welcome parents and kids to participate together.
