Our Story

It all started November 1, 2015

Who Gives a SCRAP fills a unique market niche and community sustainability need by diverting common household and crafting materials from landfills through creative reuse and re-purposing. We receive donations of well-kept, good condition materials that are no longer needed by the owner and resell them to teachers, artists, crafters, and others who re-purpose the supplies into newly-desired final use products. This business model fulfills an important environmental function and provides affordable supplies to those who need them, both of which are valuable to the community.

We are a donation based scrap store that carries an impressive mix of arts and craft and hobbies supplies in addition to unique vintage finds.  We carry everything from scrapbook paper to game pieces, from used books to sewing patterns — the variety is a crafter’s dream. The reuse of goods and materials is the most efficient, environmentally friendly, and economically viable way to reduce the waste stream. Our shop is open to the public and our ever changing inventory is based on individual and business donations.

If we receive donations that cannot be re-sold at our shops, we work with many community partners that will use such items as coats, shoes, boots, toiletries, backpacks, excess school and office supplies.  Nothing goes to waste, because we are zero waste!

ARTISTS
If you are an artist looking for inexpensive supplies, Who Gives a SCRAP is here to help! We co-host monthly community art and craft supply SWAPS with the Pikes Peak Library District. The public can trade and share their art and crafting supplies for FREE. See the “Event Page” for a list of dates and locations for our SWAPS.

LOCATION
Our Colorado Springs location has found its fourth building, hopefully 12,406 square feet suits us for a while. Sadly, our Fort Collins’ location closed due to Covid in 2021. We would love to open another location someday.
