Youth Art: Zen Doodle

Wednesday, May 22nd, 4-6pm

Class Description: This type of drawing focuses on creating drawings with repeating abstract patterns. This is a great creative outlet for helping with meditation and relaxation while also getting your creative juices flowing! With Zen Doodle you can have fun while playing around and making new patterns or you can focus on creating beautiful and intricate masterpieces. In this class you’ll be guided through a number of different exercises designed to help you explore the whole spectrum of Zen Doodle!

All Included: Sketching paper/drawing paper, drawing utensils (pens, pencils, colored pencils, markers, crayons), rulers, compasses, stencils, scissors, etc.

Ages: Ages 10-14

Location: Meet us in the “Who Gives a Scrap” Classroom. Turn left when you enter the front door and head to the back of the Sales Floor.

Instructor: My two greatest passions have always been art and environmentalism and I try to infuse those two things into as many aspects of my life as possible.

As a summer camp counselor I enjoyed leading nature walks and then creating art projects about the things we’d seen on our hikes.

In college I pursued a double major in Studio Art (Ceramics) and Environmental Policy and did my thesis project on teaching science through art. And now, working at Who Gives a Scrap, I get to be part of an awesome crafting community with a focus on sustainability.

I enjoy doing a wide range of arts and crafts including sculpture, pottery, drawing and cross stitch to name a few!

Having access to various creative outlets has been hugely important in my life and I love being able to share that joy with others.
